The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is an international standard for security of sensitive data. It was defined by the PCI-SSC (Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council), an organization founded in 2005 by the major card payment systems: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Financial Services and JCB.
The standard defines the standards of protection of privacy and data integrity can be used and stored as part of card payments, particularly on the Internet (eg obligation to encrypt stored data, prohibition of storing the visual cryptogram ...).
3D-Secure is a program created by international issuers Visa (Verified By Visa) and MasterCard (MasterCard Secure Code) to strengthen online payment security. It is based on the establishment of an additional check when paying online: bank data in addition, the customer is prompted to authenticate by entering personal data enabling the bank to identify and confirm.
